Parking in Appleby:

Click here for a map of parking in the town centre.  You can find out more about parking enforcement in the area from Eden District Council.

Disc parking:

To park on the street in the town centre you need to:

  • Obtain a clock disc from the TIC or any shop
  • Set it to show the time of your arrival
  • Place it on the dashboard where it can easily be seen

You then have either two or three hours free parking depending on where parked – please check the signs.

Pay and display parking:

There is a pay and display Car Park at Broad Close, the fee is £1.40 for two hours or £3.30 all day (at the time of writing); check rates here.

The weather looks set to be glorious this weekend! Join us and see Alston Station as you've never seen it before! Our 'All Aboard' Alston has Arrived event takes place over the Bank Holiday weekend with a Bouncy Castle for the little ones, lawn games, a treasure hunt and of course that beautiful journey down the South Tyne Valley. Our new cafe will be open, along with the Heritage Engineering Workshop and Discovery Centre.
